Pre-Approved Associations

For Members in Good Standing of Pre-Approved Associations or Regulatory Colleges

Thank you for your interest in the CCPCP.  Please refer to the list below of “pre-approved” associations that the CCPCP Board has approved for a streamlined application process.

After careful review of the standards of competency, ethical guidelines, and supervision requirements that the listed associations have in place, the CCPCP recognizes that the admission criteria for this list of “pre-approved” professional associations and regulatory colleges.  These associations and colleges’ entrance requirements are in keeping with the standards and competencies of the CCPCP.

Applicants who are candidates or full members in good standing of one of the pre-approved associations may apply for the equivalent candidate or full membership in the CCPCP through a streamlined application process that waives the CCPCP entrance exam. 

Supervised hours may be transferable.  Applicants who currently hold full or candidate membership in a pre-approved professional association or regulatory college may submit their supervised hours for evaluation by the CCPCP admissions team.

See the list below for approved associations and colleges.  If the association or college you are affiliated with is not on this list, you can request that the admissions criteria be evaluated by the CCPCP to determine if reciprocity is warranted.

CACCF – Canadian Addictions Counsellors Certification Federation

CACPT – Canadian Association for Child and Play Therapy (Intern members and Certified Members) 

CCPA – Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association

CPCA – Canadian Professional Counsellors Association

KCPC – Kelowna College of Professional Counselling

OACCPP – Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists

PACCP – Professional Association of Christian Counsellors and Psychotherapists

Registered Social Workers – all provinces

Registered Psychologists – all provinces

Registered Nurses, Psychiatric Nurses – all provinces

Registered Psychotherapists – all provinces

Registered Counselling Therapists – all provinces

Registered Addictions Counsellors – all provinces
